Full-timeThe City of Phoenix Aviation Department is seeking a highly motivated team member that will enjoy the high-energy environment of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The Aviation Economic Development Specialist position is in the Business and Properties Division, Concessions Section. The Business and Properties Division (B&P) is currently comprised of Airline Affairs, Compliance, Concessions, Commercial Real Estate, and the Rental Car Center. This diverse group is responsible for the management and development of the Aviation Department's real property assets at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and two General Aviation Airports: Phoenix Deer Valley (DVT), and Phoenix Goodyear Airport (GYR), ensuring their long-term viability through revenue generation, contract administration and management of land and development of improvements. The team manages over 4 million square feet of facilities, ground leases for approximately 2,000 acres of land, developing, negotiating, and managing agreements with over 1,600 tenants.
This position reports to the Concessions Superintendent and is instrumental in supporting key business lines within the Business and Properties Division, prepares and reviews scopes of work, contracts and leases, contract administration, maintains tenant/customer relations, reviews gross sales data, and provides analysis and reporting. This position will support the day-to-day activities and priorities of the concessions section. Candidates with strong verbal and written communications skills that aspire to support a professional environment should apply. The Aviation Department is searching for candidates that are familiar with contract management, procedural documentation, graphs, and spreadsheet experience. Must have the ability to walk large site locations and a strong commitment to maximizing customer service levels.

SALARY
$51,771.20 - $78,769.60 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years of professional level experience in commercial leasing, real estate contract negotiation, or economic development, redevelopment, or business assistance.
- Including experience in program implementation, marketing, and public information efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, economic development, urban planning, or a closely related field.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

The City of Phoenix has paused plans to implement a federal mandate requiring all city employees be vaccinated against COVID-19. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- Experience creating and writing operational processes, standard operational procedures, and business correspondence.
- Professional experience with airport food and beverage/specialty retail/passenger services.
- Experience exercising tact, discretion, and diplomacy when handling sensitive and confidential issues and situations.
- Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that monitors contractual terms and gross sales data.
- Experience analyzing complex problems, evaluating alternatives, and make sound recommendations.
