Overview:
Carollo Engineers is a nationally recognized engineering firm specializing in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking a mid-level, Civil BIM Designer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Able to work with minimal direction and minimal supervision to produce engineering documents and related material
- Working knowledge of basic survey practices and an understanding of coordinate geometry.
- Ability to develop working drawings for civil site plans (grading, drainage, and paving) from sketches (determines scales, layout, and need for specific detail)
- Advanced knowledge in the use of AutoCAD and familiarity with ProjectWise
- Ability to generate Digital Terrain Models (DTM) from survey data and a basic working knowledge of Civil 3D
- Basic ability to calculate cut and fill quantities
- Experience with development of plan and profile drawings with an understanding of page layout and the use of exaggerated vertical scales
- Coordinates work activities with other discipline designers and engineering staff
- Complies with company policies and procedures and conforms to the Carollo CAD Drawing Production Standards to ensure quality control
- Working knowledge of water, wastewater, and infrastructure design
- Basic understanding of converting data between MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering or related field
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Advanced proficiency in 2D CAD in AutoCAD and a demonstrated working knowledge of 3D CAD techniques using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Two-year technical or Associate Degree
