Larimer County Community Corrections is looking for a skilled Addictions Therapist to join our dynamic team of professionals. The Addictions Therapist will work within our residential and outpatient addictions, mental health and criminogenic treatment programming with a population that are serving a criminal justice sentence.

Responsibilities

Specifically, this position:

  • Works as a member of the treatment team providing individual and group treatment sessions to participants in our residential substance use, and aftercare programs.
  • Facilitates a variety of client-centered, gender-responsive, substance abuse, mental health, trauma-informed, cognitive restructuring, and life skills groups.
  • Conducts Substance Abuse and/or Mental Health Evaluations.
  • Provides individual and relational therapy as appropriate.
  • Maintaining accurate client files.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a Certified Addictions Specialist (CAS) certification.
  • Have knowledge of research-informed practices in Addictions.
  • Have knowledge and experience in research-informed practices in criminal justice-involved clientele.
  • Be open to feedback.
  • Be non-judgmental.
  • Have a positive attitude.

Qualifications

All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.

  • Two (2) years' experience providing substance abuse treatment required, preferably in an adult correctional setting, adult or youth residential treatment program, community diversion program, or a related area.
  • Experience with co-occurring treatment required.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Human Development, Criminal Justice, or related field required. Experience may be substituted year for year with an associates or other relevant education.
  • Certified Addictions Specialist (CAS) required. Master's degree in related field and experience providing substance use treatment services may substitute for CAS.
  • Certified Addictions Technician (CAT) eligible for CAS with required coursework and clinical hours towards CAS may be considered.
  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, Adult and Child CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications by date of hire required
  • Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC) preferred.
  • License or certification in a recognized mental health field (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW or Psychologist) along with CAS/LAC preferred.
  • Master's Degree in related field preferred.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.

Supplemental Information

This position may be subject to possible evening and weekend hours.

An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. Successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.

Pay: $55,760.00 - $60,064.00 per year
