As an AmeriCorps Member- Probation Assistant with the Arizona Supreme Court/Adult Probation Services Division -AmeriCorps Probation Support Services Program (APSS) one will become a part of a larger National Service Program that provides additional resources for communities in need across America. In the APSS Program, Probation Assistants will specifically provide support and additional services to Probational Departments across the State of Arizona. The overall goal of the APSS Program is to assist with the improvement of probationer's behaviors and attitudes and thus achieve a greater reduction of recidivism. Under general supervision, the AmeriCorps Probation Assistant will serve as an aid to adult and youth probation officers and staff in their daily responsibilities and duties that could include: aiding with case administration and case management duties; providing court navigation assistance; providing linkages and/or referrals for both probationers and those who are in the re-entry population and assisting in the assessment of change of behavior or the intent to change behavior of individuals to better their economic opportunities; assisting with the increase of self- sufficiency skills, soft skills, work-force development skills; providing links to court-ordered community restitution programs, education resources, such as access to GED prep courses and technical trainings and; assisting with the facilitation of integrated cognitive behavior change programs. Please also be aware that at any given time the recruitment and onboarding of new candidates to our program can be placed on temporary hold or suspended due to the COVID 19 Pandemic.










Member Duties : Aiding with case administration and case management duties; Providing court navigation assistance;providing linkages and/or referrals for both probationers and those who are in the re-entry population and assisting in the assessment of change of behavior or the intent to change behavior of individuals to better their economic opportunities;assisting with the increase of self- sufficiency skills, soft skills, work-force development skills;providing links to court-ordered community restitution programs, education resources, such as access to GED prep courses and technical trainings and;assisting with the facilitation of integrated cognitive behavior change programs. Members have the option of either a:Quarter-Time (450 hours), or a Minimum-Time (300 hours), to be completed in a four month Service Term. Service hours will primarily be completed between 8 and 5, Monday through Friday. Candidates have a choice of 3 start dates: September 1st, 2021, January 1st, 2022 or May 1st, 2022.
